A strip that reaches the desk, not just the outlet
The 6-outlet surge strip is the workhorse of this shelf. It comes on a 14 AWG cord from 4 ft to 30 ft, in white or black, with 600 joules of surge protection and an on/off switch at one end. Four holes on the back let you screw it under a desk or along a workbench. The USB version keeps the six outlets and adds two USB ports for phone chargers.
For a garage or a workshop, the metal strip spaces its outlets wide enough for bulky tool chargers and transformers side by side. For the outlet behind a bed or a bookcase, the flat plug strip lies flat against the wall on a 45-degree plug and a thin flat cable.
A strip adds outlets, it does not add power: everything plugged into it shares the 15 A the strip is rated for, and the wall outlet behind it. Keep space heaters and other big appliances on their own wall outlet. the TiFFCOFiO lineup prints the rating on every strip so you can add up the load.

No. Heaters, microwaves and other major appliances belong in a wall outlet on their own. A power strip adds outlets, not power, and fire safety groups say the same.
